Introduction

Clan Amber is a small, friendly residential convention, dedicated to the Amber Diceless Roleplaying Game.

Clan Amber 97 is now over! Many thanks to all who attended, especially our GMs and other organisers. We certainly had a great time, with really excellent games. We also made some new friends and renewed some older acquaintances.

As many of you may have heard, there will be no Clan Amber '98, this year.

Unfortunately, two of our organisers have left for foreign parts. Simon Tan, our trump artist, has gone to Malaysia and Tim Heap, our games convenor, is off to the Gulf. Together with the pressure of both Nicky and my exams, this has meant we have decided not to run a Clan Amber this year. It was not an easy decision, but we felt that if we could not give it our best, then it was better not to do it at all.

Many thanks to all those who have supported Clan Amber through the two previous conventions.

• The North American continent is blessed by one more con, this time on the 5th-8th November 1998 in Portland, Oregon. Ambercon NW is run by Simone Cooper who successfully founded Ambercon UK and is thus, in part, responsible for inspiring us to run Clan Amber.
